Game On!
PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR EVENT DETAILS AT https://www.facebook.com/events/413695301978109/ WE WILL BE HOSTING BOTH A GAME AND A RAFFLE!
I'm taking part in Drawtism this year - playing Pictionary to raise money for Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) in honour of my son Noah who was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder late last year. Children with Autism can be affected in many different ways, for Noah, it manifests itself through delayed speech, social difficulties and sensory issues which can make 'normal' experiences such has a hair cut or trip to the shops painful for him. He is fascinated with wheels, and all things transport - boats, cars, planes, trains etc. His favourite food is chicken nuggets and his best friends are his three snugglers Ducki, Raffy and Baby the possum. Noah continues to amaze me with the progress he makes each and every day, we have our good times and our bad times but he is the most beautiful and loving little boy I could ever ask for, even if he sometimes chooses to show it in different sorts of ways.
It is still not known what exactly causes Autism, but early intervention therapies have been shown to significantly benefit children on the ASD spectrum. Aspect is a key organisation in supporting families effected by Autism and researching the disorder.
I'll be hosting a game of 'Drawtism' on Monday the 14th of May to raise funds, but if you are unable to make it, please donate whatever you can to this worthy cause, every dollar will help!
Please note it you are purchasing tickets to the game or raffle or if you are just making a (very welcome!) donation =)
Thanks very much for your support! Emily & Noah

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect)
Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is Australia’s largest national service provider for people on the autism spectrum.
Autism is different for everyone. Providing the right support requires understanding individual strengths, interests and aspirations. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. At Aspect, we work in partnership with people of all ages on the autism spectrum, providing a tailored support journey that continually adapts to the needs of each person. Our approach means each person is understood and valued for their unique abilities, supported through their challenges and given opportunities to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential.
How your support helps
We need people like you to help us pave the way to a better future.
Autism is a lifelong condition. An estimated 1 in every 70 people in Australia is on the autism spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians. It is likely you know someone – a family member, friend or colleague.
By fundraising for us, you will help provide the best opportunities for people of all ages on the autism spectrum from tailored educational support to fulfilling work lives and improved social environments.
